Florence County Deputies Arrest California Man With Over 100 Pounds of Marijuana in His Car!
According to a news release from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, an arrest was made on Monday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of more than 100 pounds of marijuana. Deputies said the traffic stop happened because the driver was speeding northbound on I-95.
After searching the car and finding the marijuana, deputies arrested Hongzhou Yu, 34, of California, and charged him with marijuana trafficking, according to the release. You will be held at the Florence County Detention Center until a bond hearing.

Deputies said that if you are convicted of selling more than 100 pounds of marijuana but less than 25,000 pounds, you could get up to 25 years in prison and a $25,000 fine in South Carolina. According to the release, the estimated street value of the marijuana was around $300,000.
