Almost $1 Million Wealth of Marijuana Confiscated From Truck At Texas Border Checkpoint!
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently stopped a commercial vehicle at a Texas border crossing and took hundreds of pounds of marijuana from it. On Thursday, March 9, the drugs were taken from the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, Texas.
A 2008 Freightliner tractor-trailer carrying a commercial shipment of uncoated paperboard was sent for a second inspection by a CBP officer. CBP officers used non-intrusive imaging systems and a canine unit to find what they think was 454 pounds of marijuana in the car.

The drugs were taken by CBP, and the case was given to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to look into. The seized marijuana is thought to be worth $1,015,992 on the street.
“Frontline officers at the World Trade Bridge worked very hard to stop this attempt to bring drugs into the country,” said Laredo Port of Entry Director Alberto Flores. “Their tactics have helped cut down on the number of illegal drugs coming into the country.”
