Kansas Farm Bureau Responds to Growing Calls for The Legalization of Medical Marijuana.!

Next month, the Kansas legislature will begin its work on the 2023 legislative session, and among the issues for lawmakers to address, there are growing calls for them to consider legalizing medical marijuana in the state of Kansas. Kansas is nicknamed the “Sunflower State” because of its abundance of sunflowers. This comes at the same time when a powerful group decided to embrace a new stance on medical marijuana.

It is anticipated that legislation addressing the topic of using marijuana for medical purposes will be introduced at the beginning of January. The Kansas Farm Bureau (KFB) has said that it will take action immediately before anything is brought up for discussion.

According to Greg Doering, a spokesman for the Kansas Farm Bureau, “the reason that medical marijuana was taken up at our annual conference by our members is because of the ongoing discourse in Topeka around this matter.”

Doering Indicated that The Kfb Group Will Not Be Taking a Position on Either Side of The Debate.

“Now that those conversations are going to take place in this upcoming session, we have a policy where. Doering stated that all that we could do was go in and say “this is where our membership is at on this subject, and this is what they would like to see if you decide to move through with it.”

What Exactly Does that Policy Entail, and Why Is It Important for Kansans to Be Aware of It?

Doering stated that the current position of the company is “neither for nor against” the use of medical marijuana. “It is basically simply a list of conditions we would like to see if it’s something that is made legal in the state of Kansas,” said one of the researchers who worked on the document.

When one examines the policy, one finds that it indicates the organization backs the authority to monitor and enforce licensing as well as lawful production. It further states that any farms or dispensaries should be compelled by law to disclose ownership information as well as permits and licenses in a location that is easily accessible to the public.

According to the KFB guideline, all products must have a label on the packaging that specifies the dosage, the name of the dispensary, and information about the doctor who prescribed the prescription.

Doering stated that the KFB wanted to ensure that it could be a part of the discourse when it came to making decisions about marijuana for medical use.
