The 22-year-old R&B artist Emani 22 was recalled by the rapper Bhad Bhabie.
It is still unknown how Emani, whose full name was Emani Johnson, died, although a vehicle accident has been reported.
DailyMail.com has attempted to reach representatives for comment but with no success.
When she released her debut album last year, she had 147k Instagram followers under the handle @lonebrain.
Bhabie, whose real name is Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli, said on Tuesday that she had no idea what to say because she is still in shock over the turn of events.
“I formerly spent nearly every day with you. You have taught me so much. My older sister, you are my influence for many things (hair, nails, fashion, etc.). I’m going to miss you terribly,” she wrote.
A close friend of the singer, @alannatheballer on Instagram, also paid tribute with a series of images.
“My heart aches so much. I love you so much emani. “I’m really sorry that this occurred to you,” said the message. You did not deserve this in any way! “You were such a beacon of hope for so many of us,” her caption said.

The Color Red, Emani 22’s debut studio album, was released via streaming sites earlier this year.
A Facebook friend, Sincere Show, also expressed her condolences by noting that Emani’s passing was the last thing she expected to hear.
“I never doubt anything, but this is insane. Why her? I cannot believe it,” she added.
In a 2018 interview with VoyageLA, Emani discussed her passion for music-making and how she utilizes it to express her emotions. “I enjoy composing music, and in my songs, I describe my experiences and emotions. Then, she said, “I want to show everybody this and I want them to feel it as well.”

A portion of her objective is to motivate her audience in novel ways. “I want my audience to feel emotions they’ve never felt before. I want to demonstrate how I perceive and hear things. “I put my heart and soul into my writing and music, and it’s all significant to me, from the first beat to the last hum,” she continued.
Her Instagram images are now filled with tributes and fans expressing their sorrow.
