Trulieve Contributes $5. 5 Million More To The Legalization of Marijuana in Florida!
Trulieve Cannabis, a company with operations in multiple states, recently gave an additional $5.5 million to the Florida marijuana legalization cause. Orlando Weekly reports that a firm based in Tallahassee, Florida has paid $25.5 million to the Smart & Safe Florida campaign in an effort to have adult-use legalization placed on the ballot in November 2024.
After donating $5 million in December, Trulieve has now donated an additional $1 million to Smart & Safe Florida. To date, the group has gathered over 291,000 signatures for its petition, which is enough to have it reviewed by the Florida Supreme Court.
In order to have their proposed constitutional amendment appear on the ballot, Smart & Safe Florida must gather more than 891,589 valid voter signatures. If the amendment is approved, those over the age of 21 will be able to “possess, purchase, and use marijuana goods and marijuana accessories for nonmedical personal consumption by smoking, ingesting, or otherwise.”
